Books/Tutorials for learning about database design and normalization best practices?

I’m wanting to get a better understanding of the basics/best practices of database design so that I better understand how I should be setting up my models. Is there any solid books/tutorials anyone has had good experience with?

I followed the first 4 courses of Stanford’s Databases MOOC and they are really good, sadly they have been moved to EDX and the migration hasn’ t finished and I think the original platform was better. You should take at least the introduction to relational databases and the sql courses, with they both you will have a good start in database design.

Don’t waste more time looking for other resources, make this two MOOC’s and after those think where to follow.
