Hello community! 👋

I have published a [short post on the official Django blog](https://www.djangoproject.com/weblog/2026/oct/26/natalia-bidart-planned-short-term-leave/) 📣 about my planned three-month break, but I also wanted to add a more personal note here.

After more than three years as a Django Fellow, my brain has started giving me some increasingly clear hints that it needs a proper reset 🧠. So, during November, December, and January, I will be taking a break from my Fellow duties .

I feel very privileged to be a Django Fellow, and I deeply appreciate 💚 the full support of the DSF Board, Sarah, Jacob, and the members of the teams, SC, and working groups I participate in. Knowing that everything will be well looked after makes it much easier to fully unplug. 🔌 ⚡

And I do mean fully unplug from Fellow work! 🧘 I will be mostly disconnected from Trac, pull requests, the Forum, chat, and my [djangoproject.com](http://djangoproject.com) email. I will still keep an eye on direct messages, mentions, and emails to my personal account, and I don’t mind hearing from you there 🗣. With the end-of-year holidays coming up, hopefully you will barely notice I am not around! 😎

I am genuinely excited to take this time off, and equally excited to return with renewed energy. I have planned lots of hands-on projects, including woodworking, which I love 🪵 🔨 🪚.

See you in February! ✨
