The best place to start is with the [Contributing to Django](https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/internals/contributing/) page in the documentation.

This is a fairly common question - you can also read a couple of the other discussions in this category discussing it:

- [Contribution in Django](https://forum.djangoproject.com/t/contribution-in-django/4911)
- [Need guidance to start contributing](https://forum.djangoproject.com/t/need-guidance-to-start-contributing/1702)
- [Where to find some easy issues to work with ?](https://forum.djangoproject.com/t/where-to-find-some-easy-issues-to-work-with/1306)

Once you’ve read these, feel free to come back with any questions you may have.
