I’m excited to share that I’ve submitted my GSoC 2026 proposal for ‘Add types to parts of Django (Architectural Type Stubs and ORM Precision)’.
I am Nikhil Mishra, 2nd-year B.Tech CSE student at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow. Having recently had my PR #3227 merged (Update HttpRequest path methods to match Django 5.x defaults by 01xnikhil · Pull Request #3227 · typeddjango/django-stubs · GitHub) in django-stubs, I’ve gained a solid understanding of the architectural challenges in typing the ORM. I am currently working on the feedback from that PR and am eager to dive deeper into the Manager/QuerySet stubs as outlined in my 12-week roadmap.
