GSoC - Interesting to Contribute on Switch to Playwright tests

Hi everyone,

I’m Abhi from India, and I’m interested in contributing to Django for GSoC 2026, particularly the project “Switch to Playwright tests for integration testing.”

I have experience with Python, Django, and web development, and I’m currently exploring Django’s testing framework to better understand the existing Selenium-based integration tests.

I’d love to start contributing before submitting my proposal. Could you please guide me on:

• Beginner-friendly issues related to this project

• Relevant parts of the codebase I should focus on first

• Whether starting with a small proof-of-concept (like migrating a simple test) would be helpful
