Hello everyone 
My name is Asmi Mohan, and I’m a student developer interested in applying for Google Summer of Code 2026 with Django.
I’ve been working deeply with Python and have developed a strong interest in understanding how mature frameworks like Django are designed internally. I’m especially curious about how the ORM, request/response cycle, and testing infrastructure are structured and maintained at scale.
I’ve started setting up Django from source, running the test suite locally, and reading through the contribution guidelines to better understand the development workflow. My goal is to begin contributing consistently, learn from the review process, and gradually refine a solid GSoC proposal with community feedback.
I’m eager to learn, open to feedback, and ready to put in the effort required to contribute meaningfully. If there are any recommended starter issues or areas where help is currently needed, I would really appreciate guidance.
