Hi everyone,

We’re excited to announce the public preview release of the Django MongoDB Backend, which aims to make Django and MongoDB work together seamlessly.

While this project is still under active development and is not recommended for production deployments, we welcome your feedback as we work towards our GA release later in 2025. Whether it’s bug reports, feature requests, or general thoughts, we want to hear it!

There is a typo at the end of this article, it should be django-mongodb-backend, not django-mongo-backend.

Well done, making and testing a new database backend isn’t easy, and I imagine especially so against a non-SQL database. Good luck with ongoing development.
