I’m Abel, an Information Systems student from Universitas Hasanuddin, Indonesia (@Aepra). I’m excited to share that I’ve officially submitted my GSoC 2026 proposal to add native support for generate_series() in the Django ORM.
I’ve been closely following the insightful discussions initiated by Simon Charette regarding set-returning expressions. My proposal specifically aims to establish the necessary primitives (like a CompositeField protocol) to support table-valued functions properly, moving beyond scalar-only subqueries.
Having worked with PostgreSQL in data-heavy environments during my DevOps internship at the Makassar City Government (Diskominfo), I’m highly motivated to help eliminate the need for RawSQL in time-series generation.
