Hello everyone, I’m interested in working on the CORS and CSP project for GSoC, but I noticed that it hasn’t been selected for the past two years despite there being some good proposals (eg: 2024, 2023)
I’d love to contribute to this project since it’s a field that interests me, but i just wanted to ask if it’s still a viable option. Are there any specific challenges (like scope, complexity, or mentor availability) that have made it difficult to get picked in previous years?
Would it still be worthwhile to submit a proposal this year, or would my contributions be more valuable elsewhere?

CSP support is in the works already. Given that Rob is actively responding to the PR below, it seems like it’s in a healthy state.
Got it, thanks for the update
I hope you have already checked the given PR and ticket details.
Are you working on it?
Hello again, Codename Tim sir
As I saw in hrideshmg case, the idea on which he wanted to work, was found to be that someone is already working.
My concern is quite similar, I am working on Idea Configurable Content Type Parsing as listed on Django GSoC page. SummerOfCode2025 – Django
I searched in GitHub and Django’s tickets before starting work, when I did not find any related work, I started working on it myself.
I am likely to complete the initial phase — targeted for before GSoC-> request.data
and add support for JSON body handling
Refining test cases.
I have reported a ticket for it, explain my approach in that. #36245 (Implement Configurable Content Type Parsing `request.data` to Modernize the HTTPRequest) – Django
so that I can make my PR and prepare my proposal. Am I doing right sir? Or this work is in someone else’s hands?

I would recommend reading through this response: GSoC 2025 – Introduction and Mentorship Request - #7 by DevilsAutumn and following’s Bhuvnesh’s instructions there.
thank you for your response🫰
I already read it all.
I am stuck in some ticket problem related to my idea I am working Configurable Content Type Parsing as described in the Django GSoC page
I have explained it here in this article in detail.
Please help, it will be your kind.
@hrideshmg this project has been removed from the GSoC 2025 list because we don’t have a mentor for it. Without that, it’s hard for someone to support the project and answer questions.
