Dear All,
I have a suggestion specifically for the Django Forum, not Django itself. I propose adding a new system-generated category where all topics with accepted solutions are automatically grouped for easy reference.
Currently, users post problems in different categories and subcategories, and solutions are provided within those threads. However, new visitors often struggle to find solutions because they have to search extensively or may end up posting the same question multiple times.
Benefits of an “All Solutions” Category:
- All topics that have a marked solution will be automatically listed in one place.
- New users can quickly find solutions without searching through multiple categories.
- It will reduce duplicate questions and improve accessibility to resolved issues.
This would make the forum a more efficient resource for the Django community.
I would love to hear thoughts from the moderators and community members on this idea. Would this be a valuable addition?
Looking forward to your feedback!

I’m not sure I see the value of this.
We have the areas divided into the categories to facilitate searching by topic. Unfortunately, there are a lot of keywords that would be found across the board in questions that don’t specifically apply to the topic.
The categories are designed to organize the questions, and the advanced search
facility in the forum allows you to limit searches to topics marked as solved.
However, even that’s not perfect, as not every resolved issue gets marked as solved. (My rough estimate would be that about 2/3rds of solved questions get marked as solved,)
or a new Solution Tab may be added after category, Latest & Top on Home Page of Forum
Thank you @KenWhitesell for your response and for sharing your perspective!
I understand that the existing categories are designed to organize discussions by topic and that the search feature allows filtering for solved topics. However, I believe that an “All Solutions” category could still add value in the following ways:
-
Encouraging the Habit of Marking Solutions
- If users see a dedicated section where solutions are grouped, it may encourage more people to mark helpful replies as solutions.
- Over time, this could increase the percentage of resolved questions that get properly marked, making the forum more useful.
-
Quick Access to Resolved Issues
- Even with the search function, users (especially new ones) may not always know the right keywords to search for.
- Having a centralized “All Solutions” category would allow users to browse through resolved issues easily, reducing redundant posts.
-
Enhancing Discoverability
- Instead of manually searching across different categories, users can quickly scan through a structured list of solved problems.
- This could be particularly useful for common errors, best practices, or frequently asked questions.
I understand that this may not be a perfect solution, but I believe that once implemented, users will find it useful, and a habit of marking solutions will naturally develop.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this!
-1 from me as well. Also am I the only one who feels that this reads like AI generated content?
Yes it does to me as well.
Hello @apollo13 & @nanorepublica
I appriciate your dedication towards the community and this forum.
As everyone knows AI is a tool which let you improve your productivity. It is making easy to communicate in english if someone himself is not a native speaker.
AI making us free from clerical jobs and we as a developer have many more serious things to work on.
It is a very common practice now a days to express yourself in short and get drafted structured content such that you can clearly communicate what willing to share.
Perhaps you are expecting someone who resist to use AI even if it simplify things.
No issue i will bound myself to be origional not in thoughts only but in text also.
Thanks a lot.
I certainly meant no disrespect in terms of using AI to benefit you in terms of helping with English and expressing yourself, keep doing it, but perhaps iterate on it get it sounding closer to your tone of voice.

My personal opinion here though is that a raw AI response to make a suggestion personally comes across as a bit too enthusiastic and too verbose a response to Ken’s rebuttal. AI is good at certain things, but when the expectation is a human response an AI response is a bit jarring that’s all and might get called out as it did here. Again my personal opinion here is that I would rather broken English from a translation service over an AI response

In terms of the idea I’m 0 as I don’t interact with the Using Django section enough, but I so see some value in the Django Internals section so we can track the current community consensus on certain topics that come up fairly regularly, which is slightly different to the proposal here.
