I think we should make this Forum more prominent on djangoproject.com. For example, the homepage, near the bottom has a “Stay in the loop” section that links to Google Groups, whereas so much of the recent discussions are here.
Any strong objections to a PR adding the Forum more prominently in this section?

Let’s do it! No need to mention the Google group at this point.

+1. Could we deprecate the developers mailing list while we’re at it? Can an Out of Office style auto response be set?
I would also propose making a link to the Discord more prominent as well. To me, both of these are the main places in the community to hangout?

The community page menu entry at the top features both the Forum and Discord links.
However, the “Getting Help” section in the right-sidebar features both the mailing list and IRC above the forum and discord. There’s probably something to be said for inverting the order of those entries. The “Get Help” section at the bottom of the page also has IRC above the forum and discord - that could probably also be changed.

Django-Developers is de facto dormant. I’d suggest just letting it lie for another year or two.
This. +1
No problem with the other suggestions about Discord etc. Here and there are the main venues absolutely.
