I’d guess I’d say have a look at the Contributing Guide, work through the First Steps, and get set up with the test suite.
Then take a look at the Issue Tracker: here’s a filter set up to show the open tickets for the staticfiles component — have a browse, there are a lot of tickets! Success comes from finding the part of the framework that you’re most interested in.
