Hi everyone,
Setting up a robust Docker workflow for Django (managing Gunicorn, PostgreSQL, static files, and reverse proxy SSL) often requires piecing together configs from multiple outdated blog posts.
I built a free, 100% client-side tool called DevOpsForge to make this visual and straightforward:
Django + Postgres + Caddy Preset: Production Django Docker Compose with PostgreSQL & Gunicorn | DevOpsForge
What it does:
- Interactive Architecture: Select Django, choose your database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite), caching (Redis), and proxy (Caddy with auto-SSL or Nginx).
- Multi-stage Dockerfile: Generates a lightweight, secure container for Python/Gunicorn.
- Paired Reverse Proxy: Auto-generates the corresponding
Caddyfileornginx.confalongside thedocker-compose.yml. - Zero Backend: Runs entirely in your browser with no tracking or data retention.
Would love feedback from fellow Django developers on:
- Are there specific environment variables or healthcheck parameters you recommend adding by default for Gunicorn?
- Would built-in Celery + Celery Beat container presets be helpful?
Thanks for taking a look!
