Hi everyone! I’m interested in contributing to Django for GSoC 2025.
I’m currently a B.Tech student and I’ve been self-learning Python, Django, and web development for the past few months. I came across the project idea “Django Admin: Add Command Palette”, and it immediately caught my interest. The keyboard shortcuts + power-user navigation feature sounds super useful, and I’d love to work on completing the 175hr version of the project (with the potential to expand it if needed).
I’ve already started going through the related GitHub repo: GitHub - knyghty/django-admin-keyboard-shortcuts and I’m trying to understand how it works and what’s left to be done.
Would love to hear from mentors or contributors if it’s okay to proceed with this idea. Also, any guidance or feedback on how to shape my draft proposal would be amazing.
