Hosting in Linux server

Hi,
How can I host my django application with MySQL db in a Linux server. If I get the ssh access to the server will i be able to host the application. What are the requirements that I need to make the server team to set up in the server.
Is there any documentation or tutorial for referring the hosting process. Can anyone help me with this. It will be a big help.
