One of the great ideas from the maintainer-contributor meet-up thread was for maintainers to create videos ahead of time.
This came up in a recent Django Commons admins meeting and @cunla offered to do a trial run. I’m starting this discussion in case others have ideas.
Video structure idea:
- (15s) Introduce presenter
- (15s) Introduce project with brief description
- Demo installing the project in a Django application
- Demo one to three of the main features of the project
- Cover the high level architecture of the project
- Cover main flows of logic
- [Optionally] Highlight areas of complexity (the “thar be dragons here” part of the project)
- Questions from viewers (does this fit?)
- Where does the project need help?
- Who can help on the project and how can they get started?
- What would you expect from a person to become a maintainer?
