Hello, my name is Jean Patrick Prenis and I’m from Haiti. I’d like to join the Haitian Creole (HT) translation team. I’ve sent the join request on Transifex using the account name Prepa24. Haitian Creole is spoken by millions of people in Haiti and in the diaspora, and having Django translated into our native language would greatly help adoption, learning, and accessibility. Thank you very much for your support, Best regards.
Hi Jean Patrick,
I cannot see your request to join Haitian Creole, could you check and maybe re-ask to join that team?
As the team is new and contains no coordinators, you would be a coordinator for that team, OK for you ? (main task is to accept/refuse new join requests for the team).
Hi Claude,
Thank you for your reply. I’ve just re-submitted my request to join the Haitian Creole (ht) team on Transifex.
Please let me know if you can see it this time.
Best regards, Jean Patrick
Strangely, I cannot see any request from you ![]()
I heard from another thread that there could be now two different Transifex account types ( Transifex - Sign up vs Transifex - Sign up). Could that be a reason for this current issue?
I still don’t see you in join requests, however I was able to find you and add you as coordinator (using prepa24 instead of Prepa24
).
Happy translating. If you happen to more or less finish the translations, you can ping us and potentially be part of the upcoming Django 6.0 release!
Thank you very much for accepting me and for your support. I’m really grateful to have this opportunity, and I will work hard to push the Haitian Creole translations forward
Hello,
I have completed the full translation of Django strings into Haitian Creole (ht). Could you please review and accept it so it can be included in the official project? This would greatly help the Haitian Creole–speaking community use Django in their native language.
Thank you!
Wow, that was quick, thanks for this work!
The next step is to create a pull request in the Django repository to include Haitian Creole. You can find inspiration in these commits:
- Added Uyghur language. · django/django@d25f389 · GitHub
- Added Central Kurdish (Sorani) language. · django/django@08303f4 · GitHub
Do you think you would be able to do that?
